Free Scripture
A simple practice

Journaling the wound

Grief that stays in the chest grows heavier. Writing it down is one of the oldest healing practices Scripture models; a third of the Psalms are laments. The practice we teach is three lines a day:

  • Write the day. One honest sentence about what happened.
  • Write the wound. One sentence about what it did to you, anger and doubt included. God has heard worse from His psalmists.
  • Write one verse. Copy a single line of Scripture by hand, slowly. Start with Psalm 34:18.

A printable journaling companion to the toolkit is being written now, page by page, as a true companion volume; it will be announced on the Updates page the day it is ready. Until then, any notebook is enough, or write to me and I will send you the one-page guide.

Buying a Bible anyway?

Let a purchase carry the work

We are applying to partner programs, beginning with the American Bible Society's affiliate program, so that Bibles and books bought through links on this page help sustain the ministry's daily operations, at no extra cost to you. In honesty: the links above are plain links today. When a partnership is approved, we will say so here, plainly.
